News and Scorecard Update of ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate XI Vs England XI at Dubai.

England pulled off a nervy 3-wicket win over the ICC Combined Associate and Affiliate XI team in their warm-up match at the ICC Global Cricket Academy in Dubai.

On the third and final day, the ICC team resuming at 90 for 5 declared their second innings at 164 for 9 to leave England XI with a target of 261. Wicket Keeper Mohammad Shahzad from Afghanistan followed up his first innings 51 with an impressive 74 (from 104 balls with 13 fours) to help the ICC Combined team to a sportive declaration.

Inspite of getting a good start from Alastair Cook (26) and Skipper Andrew Strauss (78 from 96 balls with 13 fours and a six), England struggled to get to the target. The middle order failed for the second time in the match to put the tourists under pressure.

In the end though, a crucial 61-run stand for the 7th wicket between Wicket Keeper Steve Davies (37*) and all-rounder Stuart Broad (31) got them home for a victory. For the ICC Combined team, Afghanistan’s off spinner Mohammad Nabi bowled well taking three wickets.
