England’s strike bowler Stuart Broad will be heading home after being ruled out of the Second Test against Sri Lanka with a right calf strain. Broad is a doubtful starter for the Indian Premier League as well. The all-rounder was scheduled to play for the Kings XI Punjab.
There will be no replacement called up by the England team as they already have reserves in Tim Bresnan and Steven Finn to pick for the Second and Final Test at the P Sara Oval in Colombo, which begins on the 3rd of April.
Stuart Broad had tweeted "Annoyed to be going home a week early. Not a major injury just couldn't get through a whole Test match. Thanks for the messages."
