ICC Test rankings: Ravindra Jadeja is the number one Test bowler

Following his brilliant performances in the Ranchi Test, Ravindra Jadeja is now sitting alone at the top of ICC Test ranking for bowlers. Jadeja and Ashwin were at the top of the ranking jointly. But, while Jadeja claimed nine wickets at Ranchi, Ashwin managed only a couple, and as a result has dropped to number two in the Test rankings.
While Jadeja now has 899 points, Ashwin has slipped from 904 to 862 points. In more good news for India, Cheteshwar Pujara has climbed to the career-best ranking of number two. Following his brilliant 202, he now has 861 points.
Pujara has overtaken New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who is now in fifth place, beyond Joe Root and Virat Kohli. Australian captain Steve Smith is on top of the points table with 941 points, aided by his unbeaten 178.
As for the team ranking, India are assured of the number one ICC Test team rankings ahead of the cut-off date of April 1. Australia and South Africa are in a close race for the second spot.
